Passing thoughts while sitting behind a table no one visited at the Litchfield Jazz Festival

There is not a single pair of shorts at this thing that fall less than six inches above the knees. Except for that guy with the satin capri pants.

The guy on stage just called himself "the hippest cat in the universe." And then he said "I had to get all my hipness from Downbeat Magazine. Subscriiiiibe." I hope that's not a real magazine.

There is no one here under the age of 38 besides a smattering of jazz band geeks. Jazz band geeks are like band geeks only they're pretentious and they think that by listening to music that went out of fashion decades ago somehow makes them cool despite the mountains of circumstantial and empirical evidence that suggest otherwise.

OH MAN THAT'S DAN MCGREW. He still stands exactly the same way as he always did.

Most unlikely article of clothing seen today: "Violent J: Wizard of the Hood" ICP tee shirt. Second place goes to the guy with the satin capri pants.

"When I say 'I'm hip,' you say 'I read Downbeat Magazine.'" OK.

Oh Fork, pushing your buttons is just too easy.

And I DON'T listen to emo. Slander like that I will NOT stand for.

I seriously don't feel like giving a real reply here. You're not dragging me into this one.

But I will say that I listened to an entire Fourplay album. If that's not being open-minded, I have no idea what is.

Being open-minded does not mean you have to like everything. It's easy to be fair-minded and still dislike most if not all of an entire genre--after all, it is a genre because the songs within it are similar. And of course I do like some jazz and even some hip hop, it's just not what I choose to listen to on a regular basis because there are other things I like much more. And where do I ever comment on jazz itself in here?

And you just got more out of me than you ever should have. Even if that was meant to be a shot at you (which it wasn't by the way--I originally said something about how all the jazz band geeks wore sandals but I took it out for that very reason) it's not worth all this. It's just a stupid joke. It's not even anything important like the last time.

Goddammit you got way more out of me than this stupid argument ever deserved.

Well not only did I not say anything about jazz, I said nothing about opinions. The comment in question is in reference to whether or not they are cool. Or "hip" as you jazzies like to say.

I deleted a bunch of stuff because I just want this to end. But I am still growing. Within three years I will tower over you all.

Oh man where did you get WCW vs. nWo? I played No Mercy a bunch when my cousins were down. I don't even remember Bill "The Bag" Milligan.
