To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for considering my application to your undergradute Fine Arts program. Enclosed, you will find my portfolio and assorted application material. I believe that you should accept me into your program because I am a vibrant, motivated person who can bring a unique perspective to your campus and your Fine Arts program.
However, if my portfolio and my academic acumen as displayed by my record is not enough to convince you, then let me give you a short biography of me. I was born on April 20, 1989. That means I was born exactly 100 years after Adolf Hitler, evil Nazi dictator. My father worked for five years after college as a mailman, so he was a kind of public servant. Hitler's father was also a public servant, but he worked in customs. Hitler's mother was named Klara. Mine is named Kathy, and as you might noticed, both of those names begin with a K, and both are two syllables. Hitler's parents were second cousins. My parents were next door neighbors from the time they were each three years old unti they were in high school, which I'm sure you agree is a long time. Adolf Hitler had a very stern father who would whip him daily. One day, my father and I were playing football in the front yard and he tripped me and knocked out one of my teeth. It was a very traumatic moment for me because it was the first tooth I had ever lost. I did well in elementary school, like Hitler. Though he failed and had to repeat the sixth grade, I did not, though I was embarrassed in front of the girl I liked at a school dance, which was a very bad moment in my life. Hitler dropped out and applied to an art school in Vienna, where he was rejected. This is where you come in.
It is very important to me, as you can imagine, that I be accepted by your fine institution. In my years in high school, I have poured my heart and soul into my art, which I hope is visible in my portfolio. Now, let me be clear: I am not saying that I am like Hitler. I do not hate Jewish people, nor do I harbor any unreasonable resentments towards my father or other people, and I do not have any ambitions to run for public office. However, I think the many coincidences that may be seen between our two lives should be enough to give one pause. Will I become a maniacal genocidal dictator? Who knows. Probably one of the major events in Hitler's life that turned him into such an angry person was his rejection from art school. I'm just saying, is all. The ball is entirely in your court. Look over my portfolio and decide for yourself. Accept me into your school? Or take a chance, reject me and hope that you haven't created one of history's greatest monsters. Thank you for your time and consideration, and thank you in advance for my acceptance.
Sincerely,
[name redacted]
