_____
A large white house, two stories, with green shutters.
(Bob is talking to his wife on his cell phone, telling her that he's just pulling into the driveway and asking her when she'll be home and telling her he loves her and whatnot, and then he turns off the engine and stop talking for a second, mid-sentence.)
"Bob?" His wife.
"There's someone in the house."
"What?"
"There's someone in the house. I blocked in his car."
"Oh my God, Bob, just get out of there and call the police."
"I've got the gun."
"Bob."
"I'll call the police, I'll be fine."
And that's what he did, he called the police and he picked up his gun and he headed inside.
The front door was unlocked. Strange. The front door was never unlocked, even when they were home. Had Bob left it unlocked? Is that how the intruder had gotten in? Or had he gotten inside through the window, and then unlocked the front door himself?
Bob walked very slowly, without making a noise.
He found the intruder in the kitchen. Near the knives. (Bob is hiding around the corner.)
Then Bob jumped into the kitchen and shot the intruder, who grabbed his arm where the bullet when in and found blood. He screamed in shock and Bob fired again, hitting the stove. Bob dropped the gun, no reason. The intruder, still holding his arm, ran out through the French doors onto the back deck.
Wait, Bob thought. (He is standing in the center of the kitchen now.) We don't have a back porch. Had the intruder brought the back porch with him?
(Bob looks around.) Something doesn't seem right. (Meanwhile, the intruder is calling the police, because someone walked right through the front door and shot him in the arm.)
